Nami / 2022
Nami is a display font I made for one of my courses at KMD. It is inspired by the Japanese alphabet and its contrast of soft and angular shapes, and the artwork The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. The name comes from the word nami (なみ or 波), which means wave in Japanese.
The font works well as a decorative element, and was used as part of the logo for YMT 4 (2022), and as one of the main graphic elements in a poster that came with the student magazine.
